NFL Academy UK Appoints Steve Hagen as Head Coach
Former assistant coach of the New York Jets and Cleveland Browns joins the NFL Academy UK as Head Coach
Coach Hagen, who has more than 38 years’ experience working in football, has held elite level coaching and player development roles in a distinguished career, and is recognized for his proven athlete management and leadership development skills on and off the field.
Coach Hagen spent 11 years in the NFL as assistant coach for the New York Jets and Cleveland Browns, in addition to roles at 12 US colleges, including Notre Dame, bringing a wealth of experience in the professional and collegiate game.
In his time with the Cleveland Browns, Coach Hagen spent seven years as a Tight Ends Coach and one season as Quarterbacks Coach. With the New York Jets, he worked two years as Tight Ends Coach and a further season as Assistant Special Teams Coach.
The appointment underlines the NFL’s long-term commitment to establishing the NFL Academy as an elite talent development program and a center of excellence for young student athletes in global sport.
